Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between ZipBlind and Ziptrak? Are they the same?
ZipBlind® and Ziptrak® are both renowned leading brand names of outdoor track-guided blinds, although there are some similarities, they are different in features and origin.
Due to the popularity of these brand names, the terms “zip blinds”, “zip tracks”, have been adopted by the masses and used interchangeably to describe track-guided blind products in general.
Are ZipBlinds waterproof / rainproof?
ZipBlind outdoor blinds are highly effective at keeping rainwater out on condo balconies and patios. The level of water resistance depends on the fabric selection. With 0% openness (non-porous) fabrics offering the strongest barrier against wind-driven rain. Even with 1% openness fabrics, seepage remains minimal and well-controlled. For homeowners seeking maximum protection on their balcony, pairing the blinds with a rainguard plate further enhances water tightness and weather shielding.
Can ZipBlinds keep cold air in on a condo balcony?
ZipBlind® helps conserve cold air in outdoor areas, though results depend on fabric type. Non-porous fabrics are best for minimising airflow, while porous fabrics are less effective.
Can ZipBlinds be installed with Invisible Grilles on a condo balcony?
Yes, ZipBlinds can be installed together with Invisible Grilles. The grilles should be mounted first within the railing, leaving about 50mm of tiled kerb space for the ZipBlind® installation.
What are your tracks and posts made of? Will they rust over time?
They are composed of aluminium and finished with a powder coat. Every panel you see is made from high-quality aluminium, guaranteeing that your Zipblind® can withstand the harshest outdoor conditions.
Will Zipblind reduce external noise?
Yes, ZipBlind® can reduce external noise, but effectiveness depends on fabric choice. Porous fabrics offer little noise reduction, while blackout fabrics can noticeably cut sound levels.
Preliminary tests at a high-traffic test site revealed a 30% reduction in external noise (5 to 6dB)
